TAEJAE University: Fostering Global Talents for a Sustainable Future

TAEJAE University, a prestigious four-year private institution situated in Seoul, South Korea, was established in April 2023 by Chairman Change-gul Cho, the founder of Korea’s leading company in the total home interior industry. At the helm as the inaugural president is Dr. Jaeho Yeom, formerly the esteemed president of Korea University and currently serving as the Chairman of SK Group’s Board of Directors. Dr. Yeom is a renowned figure in education, dedicating his life to shaping innovative directions for higher learning and envisioning the future of universities.

The guiding vision of TAEJAE University is to cultivate critical and creative thinking in young minds, fostering global harmony and sustainability. The institution is dedicated to developing leaders who will bring forth innovative solutions for the betterment of society worldwide. In pursuit of this mission, all classes at TAEJAE are deliberately designed to be intimate, with 20 students or fewer, whether conducted online or offline. The focus lies on interactive discussions, fueled by TAEJAE’s innovative active learning program.

TAEJAE University’s systematic curriculum revolves around six core competencies: critical thinking, creative thinking, self-directed learning, communication & collaboration, diversity & empathy, and globalization & sustainability. These core competencies are interwoven with courses in innovation fundamentals, majors, and practical field experiences, all tailored to enhance individual learning and growth for every student. The Innovation Foundation course is mandatory for all TAEJAE students in their first year. In the second year, they choose from four majors: Humanities and Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and Business Innovation. Additionally, students take part in TAEJAE’s unique Global Engagement Program, where they travel to residential campuses in five countries – Korea, The United States, China, Russia, and Japan – with the dual aim of deepening their understanding of diverse cultures and acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills. This program is complemented by a cutting-edge metaverse campus, enabling seamless global collaboration and discussion among students and faculty, regardless of their physical location.

TAEJAE proudly stands as the first Korean university to operate a hybrid campus, breaking down barriers to global learning. Its commitment to world-class student support is evident through Education Innovation Institute, Student Success Institute, and Global Initiative Institute, each led by some of the world’s foremost professors and experts in areas such as student success, wellness, leadership, and career development. Every program is thoughtfully tailored to meet the unique needs of individual students, promoting growth and motivation.

In a bid to empower students to thrive as global talents without financial constraints, the university operates a comprehensive scholarship program. Financially challenged students received full scholarships covering tuition fees, dormitory expenses, overseas trips, and international stays. Moreover, the program extends various forms of support, including the Work & Study scholarship, designed to assist with academic and living expenses, as well as scholarships for immersive experiences such as Silicon Valley on-site learning and the European Civilization Grand Tour, accessible to all students.

Even after graduation, TAEJAE continues to provide support for its students. The scholarship system offers partial funding for outstanding post-graduate pursuits, including admission to top-tier graduate schools, opportunities within international organizations, and even entrepreneurship ventures.

TAEJAE University remains committed to nurturing global talents, shaping the leaders of tomorrow, and fostering a sustainable future for all.
